In the past few days i’ve had some close encounters with some animals while driving to and fro from deland. So along pioneer trail the speed limit is fifty, So me and Ash are driving home from my sister’s house and we are singing along with some music, And out of nowhere there is this possum in the middle of the road! I was like oh god help me! so i slam on my brakes swerve a little and manage to miss this possum out to committ suicide. So we are both pretty shaken from that. So the next day… me and ash are driving home from deland, we decide to stop at venetien bay, and its pretty late so all the fountain lights are on and everything, so we go and sit and we get this text from my mom saying ” Hey! do you guys want to meet me at Kohl’s? ( which i got some amazing jeans from by the way)” so we decide to go meet her. Again, we take pioneer trail. On our way, We are not really focusing to hard on the road when one second later i see this thing sitting in the road next to the middle line like ten feet from us. I’m like, “oh gosh not again!” so i slam on the brakes, the thing takes off flying; I mean one would think that an animal would be smart enough not to fly straight for its doom, but it flies straight at us, and despite my valient attempt to avoid this owl/ hawk bird we hit it in the legs as it was flying over us. poor bird =( but maybe his wounds will teach him a lesson not to sit in the middle of the road at night when he should be up in a tree somewhere. Crazyness!
man, its hard to imagine that this land was once completely natural. No electronics or houses, the land wasn’t cleared except in the areas inhabited by the natives, no air conditioning; the water being all natural( full of dirt =)). oh man how i would love to live in that time. I would place myself to a family living in a small village in the middle of nowhere. as i grew i would become an explorer and they would give me the name Alsoomse. My only companions would be the wind, the sun, the earth, and whatever animals decided to accompany me, perhaps a mika or a kolenya =). I love to imagine my life if i were a native. I can imagine having a sister who was the most beautiful girl in the village and they called her Hurit. Her eyes would be green and skin tan and hair long. yep i would love that, it would give me a chance to escape from the attention of my people hahaha. It would be so good. But it can only be in my imagination that this world exists. Mine is one of subdivisions and cities and paved roads and the latest forms of technology. I guess i can be thankful for the great things god’s blessed us with, but man i would love to experience the world before all our dependencies on technology.
So last night i was in a very mixed up state of mind. I decided to open up the word and read. Thinking that doing so would help clear my head. I opened up to samuel and started reading about how saul was persuing david and david had gone to the philistine side for safety, and in return David would fight for the philistine army.
I was like whoa! I had no idea david was on the same side as the philistine’s- who david once fought and killed one of their men(Goliath). Thats pretty interesting. So i read on…
there was a battle about to start between isreal and the philistine’s. When Saul found this out he became very afraid. He disguised himself and went to a soothsayer, this was not legal because saul had banned all these types of people from their work, He ask her to bring up samuel( from the grave). Samuel came and spoke with saul, saul asked for help with the battle and all samuel said was, hey guess what? tomorrow you and your three sons are gonna die.
I read that and was like why doesn’t saul get some like heavy protection going, then i realize, God has this planned so there is no way of stopping it. Crazy yet amazing how everyone’s life is already set out.
So in the end it turned out how samuel had said it would. David didn’t fight in that battle, he stayed back because the philistine’s were afraid he would turn on them to gain saul’s favor. David had his own chase going on back at the negev though, you should definitely read it, its an amazing story! =D
